Church Library

The Runnymede United Church Library is a sanctuary of knowledge, inspiration, and community. Located on the third floor of our Runnymede Campus, our collection encompasses books covering many different topics, from religious texts and deep theology to uplifting stories and even fiction.

The library is open on Sunday mornings from 10 am to 12:30 pm and on Monday to Friday from 10 to 3 pm.

 

Affirm Lending Library

Explore our collection of affirming books, a celebration of diversity and acceptance. From LGBTQ+ themes, to indigenous narratives, and discussions on anti-racism and disability, the pages of our literature embrace and champion representation.

Borrowing from our award winning selection of books is easy:

1) Select a book

2) Fill in the sign out sheet

3) Read the book

4) Return and sign the book back in.

The Book Nook

Enjoy your Sunday mornings after service with coffee and a trip to our book carts in Memorial Hall Discover the latest books available for borrowing and get inspired by reviews from fellow congregation members.

A sample of Adult books that are located in the book cart selections by season will be as follows:

  • September to December      

    • Christianity, Faith and Religion, and Spirituality

  • December to January       

    • Advent, Christmas and Jesus

  • January to March            

    • Favourite Authors

  • March to June                 

    • Bible Study and Prayer

  • June to September           

    • Reader’s Choice – Variety of topics

Children’s Section: From September to December there will be children’s books in the book cart on the subject of Affirming and Diversity. The Children’s Section in the library in Jewitt Hall has a selection from the following topics:  Christmas, Easter, Bibles and Stories, Prayers, New Testament and Hebrew stories, World Religion, Emotions and Conversation and Activism, Reference books on Environment and Creation.
 
It is easy to sign out a book or two. Most people check out the books for about six weeks. For more information, contact Jennie Keating, Church Librarian.
